Position Overview:

Tough Country is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in El Campo, TX. As an integral part of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing installation guides for our bumpers and vehicle accessories. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in mechanical design, documentation, and project management within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Installation Guide Development: Collaborate with the engineering team to create comprehensive installation guides for Tough Country bumpers and vehicle accessories.

2. Technical Documentation: Produce clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, including step-by-step instructions, diagrams, and illustrations to facilitate easy installation by customers.

3. Product Testing Support: Assist in product testing activities to ensure that installation procedures align with product specifications and safety standards.

4. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in installation procedures and documentation, and contribute innovative ideas to enhance product usability and customer satisfaction.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments including engineering, manufacturing, and marketing to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on installation guide content and format.

6. Project Coordination: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and milestones to deliver high-quality installation guides on time.

7. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of installation guides to verify accuracy, clarity, and completeness before finalizing and releasing them for publication.

Qualifications:

– Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
– Strong mechanical aptitude with a passion for automotive design and manufacturing.
– Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for creating technical drawings and illustrations.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
– Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
– Prior internship or project experience in technical documentation or engineering design is a plus.
